A Custom Fit Built Around Your Body
Regardless of whether you ride a road, gravel, triathlon, mountain, or an indoor smart trainer - every fit we conduct starts with your goals and your cycling history. We then begin our process of adjusting your bicycle to your body geometry. Our adjustments are designed to help your body absorb the thousands of pedal strokes you complete during a ride. Our goal is to reduce body fatigue, protect your joints, and ride longer with less pain whether your rides are outdoors, on a bike trainer, or on a dedicated training bike.
THE FIT PROCESS
Four stages, always in this order - because each one sets the constraints for the next. Throughout the fit process we will encourage you to give us feedback on how each adjustment affects your cycling experience.
Assessment
We discuss your goals, riding background, current pain points, and check your general flexibility and mobility before we chan̄ge anything on your bike.
Shoes, Cleats & Pedals
The contact point between your foot and the pedal is adjusted first. This step is key to a successful fit since all subsequent adjustments to the bike arise from this first adjustment.
Saddle Height & Set-Back
The saddle is adjusted to ensure that the ankle, knee, and hip stay inside biomechanically safe ranges throughout the full pēdal stroke. Crank length analyses are also used to ensure biomechanical safety.
Cockpit
The fourth stage of our fit focuses on stem length, hood position, or aero-bar setup to resolve upper-body strain and reach issues.
IN PERSON & VIRTUAL BIKE FITS
We offer in person bike fits to riders who can travel to our bike fit studio in Bend, Oregon. We have also perfected our Zoom-based virtual bike fit process for riders who can not travel to Bend for a fit session due to distance or time constraints, or who want to improve their fit on their stationary bike setup. We have over 30 years of bike fit experience and are one of only a handful of professional fitters who offer virtual bike fits that mirror our in-studio fits. We are proud to be able to provide our professional bike fit to riders located anywhere in the world.
